2500 CMD Desalination Plant using Reverse Osmosis Technology (SWRO)

Gulf Cement Company SWRO Desalination Plant

The project objective was to produce process and drinking water for the cement factory’s operational use and domestic consumption. Reverse Osmosis Technology was the preferred system due to its low power consumption and easier operational methods. The Desalination plant includes sea water intake system, multimedia pre treatment, 2 stage SWRO and BWRO plant, a potabolization plant, brine outfall system and the 23 km product delivery pipeline laid underground from Umm Bab Jetty to the cement factory. The turn key scope also includes application for clearances, environmental impact assessments, building permits, Ashgal Permit and Qatar Petroleum land use and construction permits.
